Gardening Corner Diary Week 5🌱
Hello!
This is Week 5 of the Gardening Corner Diary! Many things have changed over the last few weeks!
Now for the Weekly Status on the PLANTS!
First, CORN!
STATUS: ALIVE AND WELL; 13/16 SPROUTED; 3/16 UNSPROUTED
LOTS OF NEWS WITH THE CORN! CORNY has now left his pot and is planted in the dirt! He is now over 1 foot tall! My little boy is growing up! His little body named MARSHMELLO CORNMAN (curtesy of my brother) has also left his pot and is now about 8 inches tall! Earlier in the week, I planted 14 more seeds as the rest of my CORN had yet to sprout after 2 months. These guys are growing at SUPER SPEED. After just 4 days, I already have 11 sprouts! I can’t wait to watch them grow into big stalks!
Next up is the TOMATOES and the PEPPER Plant!
TOMATOES!
STATUS: ALIVE; 3/3 HEALTHY, WELL, with FLOWERS AND BABY TOMATOES!
These guys now have FLOWERS AND BABY TOMATOES! How exciting!!! They are over 2 feet tall and smell really great! Looking WAY better than the last post now and they have almost outgrown their DIY Gardening Bed! These guys are fast growers! Between the THREE of them, they have more than 10 BABY TOMATOES. THEY ARE SOOOOO CUTE! I can’t wait for HARVEST TIME, I bet that they’ll taste GREAT!
PEPPY THE PEPPER!
STATUS: ALIVE AND WELL
He seems to like his new home in the dirt! He is still really VIBRANT and I can see that he has a few flowers! He has a ton of leaves now and is over 1 foot tall. Hopefully, I’ll start to see little PEPPERS on him soon!!!
Now, the LETTUCE!
STATUS: ALL BROWN AND VERY DEAD :(
After being moved to a DIY GARDENING BED, I thought that these guys would grow rapidly like the TOMATOES. UNFORTUNATELY, I was WRONG. They started turning brown and even after giving them extra water, they didn't seem very happy. After no new growth for a few days and all their leaves wilted and brown, I threw them out this morning. How sad!!!! :(
And next, on a happy note, the BLACKBERRY PLANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
STATUS: ALIVE AND WELL
As you guys heard in the last post, this guy is quite the survivor! He now has 8 LEAVES and has been moved to a DIY GARDENING BED! Unbelievable story! I can’t wait to see what happens next with this guy!
NOW, the NEW CARROTS!
STATUS: 2/3 ALIVE AND WELL; 1/3 LOOKING WILTED :(
My wonderful neighbor brought these guys to my house a couple weeks ago and they are, for the most part, looking happy! One is wilting, but I am giving them a lot of water so hopefully, he’ll perk up soon. The rest look great! I’m so excited to harvest later in the season and eat the lovely carrots!
Another New Addition: SPINACH
STATUS: 3/7 ALIVE AND VERY HEALTHY; 4/7 ALIVE BUT NOT VERY BIG; 6/7 FLOWERING!
My great neighbor also gave me these guys when she gave me the carrots! They seem to be enjoying their new home in the DIY GARDENING BED although some of them look healthier than the others. One is slightly shriveled, but the rest are okay. And 6 of them are FLOWERING! How cool!
And last, but certainly not least, the NEW RASPBERRY BUSH!
STATUS: LOOKING GOOD FOR NOW BUT NEEDS SOME LOVE AND CARE
This guy, I found this morning! After the unfortunate end to the other RASPBERRY PLANT, I thought I might try again. This time, the plant already had leaves so hopefully, he will not suffer the same fate as his predecessor and be forgotten about and squashed under a terrarium (WHOOPS!). I have named him RAZZLE DAZZLE THE RASPBERRY!!! I can’t wait to see how he does now that he is in my care and no longer out in the wild.
That’s all for now!
HAPPY GARDENING!!!!!
