DOG TRAINING

Acclimating to Home

When we first brought Sophie home on July 11, 2016, she was a 4 pound bundle of fur. She did not want to sleep alone in her crate.  After all, she had spent her first 3 months of life with her puppy siblings. She had no restrictions, so she could eat and play whenever she wanted. Now at home, Emily and Amy were her new siblings. Sophie's dog sisters, Daphney and Tillie, are much bigger and so the introduction was gradual.

SIT

Sophie, SIT! Sophie looked up at us with her bright, curious eyes. We accompanied our request with a hand command and a small puppy treat if she accomplished the deed.

STAY

Sophie, Sit, STAY!  We added another hand command treat.
